Hello, we are the Wall
family, Darren,
Susan,
Elspeth (9) and
Catriona (7).
Our home is in Inverness
where Darren flew with the RAF and Susan was a teacher. Even before we were
married in 1995, we both felt the Lord might be calling us to serve Him
overseas and so, in 1999, we started a process of enquiry and subsequent
application to serve with OMF International.
During that process, the
Lord confirmed his calling for us to serve Him in Cambodia. At the end of
2003 we moved to Glasgow where we studied at International Christian College
in preparation for this service.
In March 2005 we arrived
in Phnom Penh,
Cambodia. During our first year here we completed the initial phase of full
time Khmer language study, settled into a Khmer neighbourhood and started
worshipping at a Khmer church which meets close to outr home. The girls are
attending Hope International School, a British curriculum school here in
Phnom Penh.
In May 2006, Darren took
over the role of the OMF Cambodia Team Business Manager, for the Team of
approximately 75 adults and 35 children. In August 2006, Susan started
teaching part-time at Hope International School. She also provides relief
management for the OMF Team Centre in Phnom Penh as well as running a weekly
club for the OMF children.
We have been
privileged to be called by God to serve Him and experience His grace in what
is an exciting church growth environment. We are, though, one part of a
much bigger team, probably including you, that God has brought together to
fulfil His Kingdom purposes in this ministry. We thank you for your interest
in this work, trusting that you will know God’s blessing in this. |
